Victoria is a committed Third Year Fashion Design Student at Kingston University, London. Her hard-working and enthusiastic approach has also lead to many freelance opportunities within the fashion, illustration and publishing industries.
Experience and Key Competencies
- A passionate interest in exploring conceptual design processes, leading to new and exciting outcomes.
- High skills in drawing which have opened a career path in illustration alongside a degree in Fashion Design.
- Innovative and ambitious approach to 3D and pattern-cutting design development.
- Good public speaker, has experience in pitching and presenting to an audience and in a team.
- Strong communication and motivational skills have lead to a role as a Kingston University Ambassador, representing the BA Fashion Course to external visitors and other students.
Achievements
- Short-listed for the Nicole Farhi British Fashion Council Design Competition. Reached the final four, waiting for further confirmation. March 2012.
- Won a logo design competition for fashion label, Ally Capellino in Autumn 2011.
- Gained the attention of fashion label, Anne Valérie Hash to collaborate in a self-initiated design project. This resulted in an invitation to the fashion house in Paris for a design review, in Autumn 2011.
- Won a design competition for Old Navy leading to a fully paid internship in San Francisco for 10 weeks, in Summer 2011.
- Approached by international publisher Hardie Grant to illustrate a book under contract, now sold across the world since publication in September 2011.
- Won an illustration competition for The Barbican Theatre’s celebration of ’30 Years of Japanese Fashion’, Autumn 2010.
- Talent spotted by Vauxhall Fashion Scout to illustrate the catwalk at London Fashion Week in Summer 2010.
- Work featured on biggest British, American and Asian Fashion Blogs including:
Stylebubble, Style Like U and La Mode Outré.
- Setting up Fashion Illustration blog, ‘The Scribbler’ has lead to commission work for magazines, fashion brands, websites and weddings, since Summer 2010. See work experience below for details.
